Texas International Pop Festival – Aug 31 & Sep 1

Join the city of Lewisville in celebrating the 50 year anniversary of the Texas International Pop Festival. This wonderful music event starts Saturday, Aug. 31 and goes through Sunday, Sept. 1 from 2-11:30 p.m. each day. Music acts include Shemekia Copeland, John Mayhall, Grand Funk Railroad, Chicago, ZZ TOP and many more! Tickets are only $30 for single day admission and $50 for the weekend. This historic event started Labor Day weekend 1969, just two weeks after Woodstock, more than 100,000 music fans came to Lewisville for the Texas International Pop Festival, at the former Dallas International Motor Speedway and a smaller free stage on the shores of Lewisville Lake. Performers at that three-day music festival included Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Santana, Grand Funk Railroad, Chicago (then called Chicago Transit Authority), and more.
