Client-Driven & Dedicated To Your Fight

by Steve Gamel

There aren’t many mornings where Kimberly Shanklin isn’t waking up to a barrage of text messages and emails from clients of her law firm. At first glance, the list almost seems like too many for any one person to get back with promptly.

But one by one, Shanklin responds as she always does – all with a reassuring tone that she is there to fight for them.

“It requires a lot of my time, but I open myself up so that my clients always feel like they can have trust in me,” she said. “I want them to feel comfortable reaching out to me. Some even feel comfortable texting me at 10 p.m., and if I respond right then, I feel like I can ease their stress.”

Shanklin lives by the belief that there should be a personal touch to the practice of law, and her firm is a true representation of that. Kimberly’s team at the Law Office of Kimberly Shanklin, PLLC is a one-stop-shop for all your legal needs, with a focus on specialized attention, superior representation, and efficient decision-making. They represent clients in all types of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and adoptions. She is also the go-to Denton County attorney in misdemeanor and felony criminal cases.

Kimberly’s practice is focused on family law and select criminal cases. Kimberly is also one of few attorneys chosen to represent high-risk clients through the family drug court, and often represents both parents and children in CPS cases. These are emotionally charged cases, but it’s never anything she can’t handle.

It’s all to help their clients get back to leading a normal life.

“I love the balance of both,” she said. “With criminal cases, it’s applying the law to the facts and getting the best result for each client. With some of these family law cases, it’s very intensive with multiple life-altering decisions involved. You have to take a step back and focus on quality over quantity so that you can devote the time you need to each person. I love helping all my clients in any way I can.”
